Rosarito Beach Municipality is located in the northwestern part of the Mexican state of Baja California comprising part of the Tijuana metropolitan area. It lies just south of the city of Tijuana. Its municipal seat is the city of Rosarito. The municipality has an estimated population of 12,000 inhabitants. Its area is 513.32 km2 (198.19 sq mi).
Rosarito Beach has a largely tourist-based economy. As a result its highrises are predominantly hotels and resorts. Rosarito offers more than 900 hotel rooms as well as 25 resorts, golf courses and spas. The Popotla Boulevard area in south Rosarito is developing a reputation for original art and furniture manufacturing. It also has a vibrant maquiladora or assembly company employing over 12,000 workers. The main industries are in the electronics and home decor business. A major player in the City has been the multinational television manufacturing company SHARP, as well as its supplier base. Rosarito is a great city to locate manufacturing companies due to its work-force and infraestructure comprised of beautiful beach front hotels & services in close proximity to US airport in Los Angeles, San Diego CA and Ensenada, Mexico, Rosarito has it all.
